The global pandemic has shifted work-life boundaries, leading to increased emotional instability among home workers. The lack of physical and mental separation between home and work environments has heightened feelings of anxiety, loneliness, and distraction.

Solution解决方案
Pebble, a Domestic Mindfulness Support System, integrates wellbeing design and interaction systems to create serene environments that help urbanites manage complex emotions and reconnect with nature, promoting a balanced and peaceful lifestyle.

This section delves into the challenges and behaviours associated with emotional regulation in home workspaces, exploring how individuals can recognise and manage their emotions more effectively. It highlights common emotional triggers identified through interviews and secondary research and outlines potential strategies for promoting emotional stability and mindfulness in daily activities.
In the concept development phase, this project explores how sensory design can be used to manage emotions. By integrating tactile, auditory, and visual interactions, we develop targeted solutions to achieve emotional balance, tailoring each element to effectively soothe or energise users based on their needs.

This section transitions from mood boards inspired by California sunsets and seaglass to sketches of innovative, stackable designs, each reflecting a fusion of natural beauty and functional creativity.
This section illustrates the prototyping phase, where initial low-fidelity models of ‘Pebble’ are explored to verify concepts, followed by the development of functional modules including RGB LED rings, wireless charging, and Arduino-based controls. The process demonstrates the iterative testing and refinement needed to transform a concept into a functional, user-interactive product.

This section demonstrates the interactive features of a modular lighting system, highlighting the wireless charging, intuitive controls, and stackable design that enable dynamic lighting adjustments.
